Salman’s surprise gift for newlyweds Riteish and Genelia

Salman Khan might have missed the wedding celebration of Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza, but the big hearted star has plans to make it up for his close friends in a grand way.

According to sources, Sallu has planned a holiday vacation as a gift for the newlyweds.

Sources confirm that a proposal to host a grand bash for Riteish and Genelia was mooted, but ultimately discarded, largely because of Sallu’s health and work preoccupations.

About his absence from the wedding, a friend of the ‘Dabangg’ star said, “Salman was completely cut off in Cuba and couldn’t make it to the wedding, but he has been planning just how to mark the occasion.”

Talking to a daily, a source said, “Salman has already sent his best wishes to the couple. He’ll meet them as soon as he is back in the city.”

Well, it seems there are still more surprises in store for Riteish and Genelia.

Actress Aishwarya Bachchan attended Riteish-Genelia Reception

Since the birth of Beti B in mid-November last year, actress Aishwarya Bachchan has been avoiding shutterbugs and public eye. Apart from a brief outing a few days back with talk-show queen Oprah Winfrey, Ash hasn’t been seen outside at all.

When actors Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza tied the knot, however, Aishwarya shed all her hide-and-seek demeanour and attended the reception of the star couple. Riteish-Genelia’s reception took place yesterday, and Ash was seen in dressed in an anarkali suit for the same. When the green-eyed beauty was spotted, all the shutters turned to capture her rare outing. It was sight that no one wanted to miss out on!

At Parameshwar Godrej’s party hosted in honour of Oprah Winfrey a while back, Aishwarya was last seen venturing out in front of cameras.

Bollywood star Riteish, Genelia get wedding today

The first big fat Bollywood wedding of the year is all set to take place today. Actor Riteish Deshmukh will tie the knot with his long time girlfriend actress Genelia D’Souza in a traditional Marathi ceremony.

All roads in Mumbai will lead to a suburban 5 star hotel where the wedding is scheduled to take place. From the entire Bollywood fraternity to leading industrialists to major politicians, all are expected to attend the wedding.

The celebrations started on Tuesday with a grand Sangeet ceremony which was attended by the entire film industry and was hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar.

The party continued till the wee hours of the morning. On Wednesday, an impromptu party was thrown at Genelia’s residence which later shifted to the couple’s new flat in Juhu.

On Thursday, the pre wedding rituals took place at both the bride and the groom’s residence. While Riteish had his haldi ceremony, Genelia, who is a Christian, had the traditional rose ceremony where close friends of the bride pour coconut milk on her a day before the wedding.

Later in the evening, Genelia was spotted visiting a church in her friends. Dressed in jeans, shirt and black jacket, Genelia looked happy and glowing.

Speaking to DNA, a source said, “Yesterday Riteish had the haldi ceremony, after which he isn’t going to be allowed to step out of the house until the wedding today. But his friends kept him busy all day through and he was rather excited too.”

The excited groom tweeted on Thursday evening, “Saw the Last sunset as a Bachelor(sic)”.

The bride is reportedly going to wear a blue and gold lehenga today and the wedding will take place in the morning. Post wedding, a lavish lunch has been organized for the guests. The reception will take place tomorrow.
