The victim Ramesh Nigam, 72, and his killers are part of the same family. The reason behind the family feud being Ramesh’s alleged role in the murders of his brother Mahesh Nigam and his son, Prakash.
On Monday, Mahesh’s wife, Shivrani, and her daughter-in-law, Seema, wife of Prakash, mercilessly beat up Ramesh. Shivrani’s two other sons also joined the onslaught.
TV visual showed the women first beating the victim with fists and chappals. The rage continued even after Ramesh slumped to the ground as the women were seen kicking him even after he became unconscious.
The victim, a patwari posted in Tarana, had emerged from the courtroom after a hearing in the murder case.
Ramesh was taken to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
