Remo D'Souza's 3D dance film

Prabhu Deva and So You Think You Can Dance contestant Lauren Gottlieb to feature in Remo D'Souza's film

For a country renowned for its dancing, India has few movies that can truly be called dance flicks. UTV Motion Pictures seeks to end that drought by producing ABCD (Any Body Can Dance), India's first 3D dance film.

Choreographer Remo D'Souza (of F.A.L.T.U. fame) is directing the film, while Prabhu Deva and Ganesh Acharya play key characters. Winners of the reality show Dance India Dance (which Remo co-judges) Dharmesh, Prince, Mayuresh, Salman Khan and Vrushali also feature. Lauren Gottlieb, who made it to the top three on the third season of So You Think You Can Dance, has been cast as the film's female lead.

An excited Remo says, "It is like a dream come true. In fact, this film is a culmination of several dreams - I get to make a dance film and get Prabhu Deva to dance and act in it."

Says Prabhu Deva, "There's so much energy on the sets! There are so many fantastic young dancers in this film and matching steps with them has been really fun and tough for me at the same time. I feel like a teenager around them. In fact, I feel more like a dancer working in the film than an actor."

Music composer duo Sachin-Jigar, who also scored for Remo's last outing, have been retained. Says Siddharth Roy Kapur, CEO, UTV Motion Pictures, "With ABCD, we believe we're pushing the boundaries of innovative content. Remo is the best choice to direct a film based on dance."
