In a bid to ease ties with Washington, Pakistan will invite back US military trainers “as early as April or May”, said a report.
However, Pakistan has said no to US drones in Pakistan, Dawn said .
The relations between the US and Pakistan have been at an all-time low since 24 Pakistani troops were killed in a NATO cross border fire in November 2011.
Notably, a committee of the Pakistani Parliament is in process of reviewing the nature of Islamabad’s relationship with Washington.
“They (drones) will never be allowed back, at Shamsi or anywhere else,” a Pakistani official told.
However, Pakistan would open gates to US military trainers and resume close cooperation with the CIA in targeting militants.
“After this is presented to the Americans, a lot could happen very quickly,” the senior official said.
